REINCARNATION

By Fareed Omar

REINCARNATION, HEAVEN OR HELL!

Is it?

It is.

Is it ‘heaven and earth’ or ‘heaven on earth?’

It is possible that, we are in heaven...!

Is it also possible that, we are in hell...?

Think about it.

What exactly is your perception of heaven? (Express it in writing if you so wish and believe it.) All and sundry, his or her own description of paradise.

Now back to our list of eternal bliss.

At least, the list would entail …. Probably a pleasant place that rejuvenates; flowing rivers, birds chirping, greenery, abundance in food .... Perhaps our thoughts are limited to what we can fathom. We can only relate it to what we know to have a positive impact on us and on the earth. Believe it!

Now hold these worldly thoughts for now! (Understand, sooner or later, we shall recap on the cap in thought.)

Now let’s rewind and change our thinking caps…

What exactly is your perception of hell? (Depressive when writing if you so blivit.) All and sundry, his or her own description of the underworld.

Now back to our list of eternal abyss.

In some lists, probably a lethargic place that drains; forced labor, restlessness, diseases, disputes, limited food supply, water levels depleted, unable to quench our thirst (and yet one is still forced to work restlessly perhaps to try and earn a bit from the meagre resources.) For some, lucifer in a red costume poking and tormenting reprobates where they are most vulnerable with a three-pronged fork. Blivit!

Those are probably the netherworld thoughts we have now!

Individually, all you need to be is independent in thought! So stop looking at the lists as mutually exclusive but as mutually inclusive.

As we rise or come back down to earth, we begin to understand that in the absence of a guardian angel in a robe or lucifer in a red suit and impossible trident, we are indeed living in heaven or hell right now.

The depiction of lucifer using a three pronged pitch fork seems ludicrous perchance. For some.

And for some, a parable.

Even religion seems to appreciate that parables can be found at length in all religions.

Contemporary scholars seem to agree that in the Quran, parables are used extensively, in a variety of forms and covering many themes;

Afnan Fatani a professor at the King Abdulaziz University, through no parables, yet defines;

“ …it is not the instructive stories but rather the cognitive role they play to illustrate abstract religion and to make the unfamiliar appear familiar that makes them important.”

Judaism, sometimes refers to Haggadah. This is basically a legend or a parable used to illustrate a point of the law in the Talmud.

The Talmud is the central text of Rabbinic Judaism and the primary source of Jewish religious law (halakha) and Jewish theology.

In Christianity, there are ten direct commandments that require no relent. But there are also many instances that narratives are used.

I remember reading that in three instances, the devil tried to tempt Jesus while the Messiah was praying at the mountain. The temptations involved a feeble attempt to get Jesus to turn stones into bread, bowing to Satan, and putting God to the test.

Is it not inherent that the devil uses the same three temptations on us as humans?

The first tactic is to try and get humans to be selfish and place mans needs above his spiritual needs.

The second tactic is to try and get man to be presumptuous. Satan tries to get man to go against the teachings of God to such a great extent that man feels like there is no hope for redemption ever.

Thirdly, satan tries to get man to assume god with other entities. Be it other gods or through traditions.

Just but a tri-partite approach that lucifer uses to take a stab at man. We now comprehend how the three pronged pitchfork in modern depictions doesn’t seem to be so preposterous.

We seem to be so engrossed in worldly temptations that we fail to heed to the guidance, signs, and warnings of religion, life and the universe.

I like how deep the response of the Dalai Lama is when he was asked what surprises him most about humanity…

“Man! Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never lived.”

Whether we spend our prime endlessly chasing worldly temptations so that we are wealthy enough to buy whatever we desire. Or whether we feel wealthy by appreciate and satisfied with whatever we have been blessed with. Let us continue to ponder on the possibility of actually being in hell or heaven.

Satan continues pronging, throwing at you whatever desires the world has to offer. Question is, are you going to give in? “To hell with this!” or are you going to have heaven in mind and refuse to be drawn. If you are honest with yourself then you may just have answered the question of whether you are actually in heaven or hell right now.

The choices we make, if the devil is the one that whispered and we allow our conscience, nafs,to give in, we may experience a temporary heaven like feeling, we know all to well that once we are hopeful that the heaven-like feeling will last forever, then we have probably made the wrong choice. But once we are definite that the feeling will last forever then we have certainly made the right choice.

The Dajjal! - For those that are aware of the narration;

Could it also just be another cryptic narrative that we are trying to be warned about? We are guided that there will come a time that the Dajjal will come and mankind will be so disillusioned that he will make choices that will make mankind think that he will eventually step into heaven or hell but in actual sense he is stepping  vice-versa.

Heaven might just be in the mind. Not as a narrative but as a permanent abode.

We may not realize it now. Nonetheless, we are reminded of the harsh reality that everything in life is temporary…. Except for life itself for it exists and exits upon death. Quite the conundrum that I have opened your mind to.

We are living life right now and yet we are told and taught about life after death. The latter, the late, that is life. This right here, the way of life, could just be, the path for life.

This here temporary that there eternal. So is life!

Again, lets have an open mind and independent in thought! Are we looking at the life here and then as mutually exclusive but as mutually inclusive?

Mutatis mutandis, we are taught and forewarned about controlling our desires in this world, for we shall enjoy them in the next.

Some would refer to the school of thought that our desires without limitations can potentially destroy the earth and by extension, destroy ourselves.

Some believe that we shall eventually go back to the pure Adam and Eve. Our revert to true self in heaven where we belong. Some religions teach that in heaven there shall be no more worshipping, prayer... an end to humility? Beginning of ego? I wouldn’t know but it is believed that we shall probably return to the garden of Eden. I also wouldn’t know if there would still be the forbidden fruit. Woe unto us should we choose to bite. We may just find ourselves retroceding in a concatenation of events that leads to an endless time loop.

As it was at first before any other word in this excerpt, we go back ….

Reincarnation

There are some people that believe that living things will be brought back to life. This may be in the form of a different organism or any other living thing.

As we have considered, there are those that believe that life after death exists. This belief in the hereafter goes hand in hand with the belief in heaven and/or hell. Where one will be eternally rewarded or punished, respectively.

Could the glitch in the matrix actually be that we are reincarnated back as different embodiments most likely human beings but we come back to the exact world that we left behind when we die?

Not as a punishment but as a second chance. We come back with the source code. If we take care of our world, rivers, plants, the whole universe at large, we may just have an appreciation of heaven.

We failed last time, we tasted the forbidden fruit, and look at us now, climate change and globalization teaching us a lesson we now understand too well.

The forbidden fruit! Could it now be understood in modern case scenario? Could it just be that in context it might actually be …  Industrialization?

Reincarnated, we recall that Beelzebub (or is it the dajjal) comes and tempts us. In a whisper we hear only as individuals, he convinces us that modernization is the way to go... let us move with time. Pollution is just a minor price to pay. A tiny little fruit on this tree, in this forest, after all, there is so much more to gain...!

Reincarnated, Adam and eve restored through us. We accept blame. We continue to work and populate the world.  The law of nature understands quid pro quo only too well... we strive and work tirelessly to try and get earth to sustain us food or otherwise and in return we sustain the earth by feeding it. Yes! We are buried, and eventually we decompose and become one with the earth.

Soiled we remain, because of our own rot!

Through some glitch, through our own guilt, life as we know it, is a living hell. For we may just be… in hell!

Reincarnated! Adam and Eve restored through us. Could Eden also have been a parable? We find ourselves living in heaven.  Reincarnated! We remember our list that we jotted down at the beginning of this piece. Reincarnated through His mercy, we are born in heaven, rivers of milk, hunger is unheard of as we are fed anytime we wish to be, all in all this is the place to be. We are certain we are in heaven.

And although time is celestial, and through some interstellar event we are now ashamed of what we had become, we cry every time we think or are reminded that we have soiled ourselves in a moment past. We make a personal resolution. We are now determined and promise to appreciate and at the very least, take care every biota that mother nature blesses us with. We are determined, devoted and fearless in our quest. Even the insects that these so called ‘adults’ around us seem to fear, we do not. We know and understand too well, what it is like to be one with the universe.

We now have the right mindset to make the right choice.

We would have to commence this pursuit of saving Eden alone. Naturally others will follow upon seeing the beauty the world has to offer. We desperately try to communicate to those who are nurturing us, but they don’t seem to grasp how important our mission is. They continuously mock us by making mimicking faces and funny sounds. The absurdity of it all makes us smile.

Wait!! A smile, that is all it was. A tiny display of our feminine side.

Even in Eden, we are tempted. We underestimated these human adults. They are smart, manipulative and strategic in their approach.

They slowly wean us over. Slowly but surely, the rivers of milk are fading.

We still understand what Mother nature requires of us, but we slowly lose focus and pulled in by the commons.  Before we know it, we are convinced that we can be so much more. Why would my sufficiency matter when I could gain so much more just from listening to these adult humans, these commons and learn their ways. Its just one tiny pollutant after all there are so many other contaminants around. I mean it surely is allowed and natural to let out a bit of toxic air after a meal. The human seemed to appreciate and even assisted by patting my back and rubbing my belly sometimes.

Its my sole choice now!

To let one go! Just one, I reassure myself!

Afterall, it may just be one tiny piece of paper that I am consciously throwing. Its nothing really!

Well, here goes nothing…..

WAIT!! For heavens sake! How the hell are we naked now?
