NOW

Don’t be quick to judge. For if you are, you might just be judged. But the question is, who is to judge? Should we be quick to pass judgement on ourselves? Is our past that significant to change our future? Certainly so! Some will say.

An objective few, impartial in their thinking would probably allude to the fact that the past can hurt, so we can either run from it or…. Learn from it. I think my Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder just kicked in and took me to the Lion King cartoon right there. Anyways, hakuna matata, back to now.

I am of the school of thought that it is now that shapes our future. The past, in its now moment is what shaped its future now moment. It may not be able to change our future for it is written but it is possible to change the future of the past that we now are.

We shall be punished for our actions we are taught in religion. But even religion puts some prudence in admonition that we shall only be punished for our sins IF we do not repent before we shuffle off this mortal coil.

The future intention to repent holding no weight in mitigation. So best that we do not procrastinate what we can do right now. The time for repentance is now! It matters not if we missed the bus, what matters now is that the stage is right.

Let us be modest in our thinking and not modest in our approach towards a better life. Let us not take it for granted that we now have the chance. Just remember that if we take chance, we might just lose this chance.

Seek forgiveness from the Almighty for he is the only one that is properly positioned to judge. True repentance is three fold. One must truly regret his actions, seek forgiveness and try never to commit the sin again.

Forgiveness from mortals takes a different form. One must try and make it right with the ones he/she has wronged. It starts with a sorry. If this falls on deaf ears then at least you tried, judge not and pray that the Almighty will be more remorseful towards you and them.

Selfless should outweigh selfish. It is important to pray for yourself and others at all times. Whether you have wronged them or they have wronged you. It is not your place to judge but it is your place to seek forgiveness for yourself and others at all times.

I took lesson from one psychologist named Jordan Peterson and he (and now convinced me), was of the view that an eye for an eye is never the best form of vengeance. Some would add that an eye for an eye would eventually leave the whole world blind. I hope to incite you on my insight.

I personally have forgiven those that have wronged me. I am at peace in giving them a genuine smile whether or not it is reflected with a sinister smile. I only wish that the world would all be positive enough to appreciate that it is only when it is bright that we get to see the horizon. Even so, there are those that choose to sit and view the horizon appreciate the serenity of it all. There are those that choose to go and find the horizon and hopefully find new horizons where they though there was one and there are those that see a mirage in the horizon and choose to wait for darkness.

Either way, you are now at a standpoint. Your choice, your perspective, your vista!
