Bird Luck

By Fareed Omar

For those that have contemplated suicide, or for those that just need to have some consideration in them. For us all, who are seeing what is happening in todays society… Indulge me for a second. There are some cultures that believe that when a bird poops on you then it is a sign of good luck. And there are people in those same cultures that would say “Oh! Heavens! Im covered in sh… ome short of peshpiration” (Probably people who are missing a tooth).

And there are those who may be missing a tooth but they have put it under their pillow. Placing trust and reliance on the tooth fairy’s coin purse.

And there are those that believe in the old adage that there are two sides to every coin.

How this story started with poop and somehow ended up being a coin at hand… would certainly amaze even the bankers. But what amazes me even more is the possibility. Do you see it?  Even if you don’t, what do you see?

Myopic I may be, but I also go to the optician. Who, but society is the one that trains us into believing that the optician is the one who is right? It matters not whether the optician reads the last line of the optic chart. Consequential is your perspective of it all.

Perspective. Not perception. People’s perception is often based on what their limitations towards enormity. Society will sometimes always try to limit you towards achieving your goals except for a  few greats.

(QUOTE ON THE USE OF POTTY TRAINING IF NOT TO MAKE A CHILD A MORALLY ACCEPTABLE MEMBER OF SOCIETY)

I like the quote of the Kenyan Olympic Champion….. “No human is limited!” Four words that will always have a great story behind it. But, four words that can also be a start of a great story. YOUR STORY!

Believe you can achieve greatness and so it shall come to be.

There are those that believe that they are a bad luck. They believe that they have been jinxed and can even give you clear evidence of such. They think that every where they touch they bring some sort of change. The family portrait appearing without a shadow.  Telling stories of how their families appear to be doing better without them. Their families comfortable perhaps. Alone in their thoughts. But in those thoughts have they ever considered that they just may be a lone ranger. It matters not whether their families understand them or not. They them in this context not referring to any gender in particular.  What matters is that you understand. Understand yourself, understand your family,  You are significant in whatever role you play in the universe. Yes you may feel drained but that is life. Again I take you back to perception. There are those that see themselves grow as each day passes. And their those that now understand that from the day they were born they were dying. It was and only a matter of time. And now as explained, a matter of perception.

So yes, you might feel so drained because you have given everything to others and no one seems to appreciate or extend a helping hand let alone turn a consoling ear towards you. BUT I reiterate, that is what life is all about. You are naturally supposed and going to be drained. So it is up to you. Drained out because of your own personal quest of life or will you be drained because as you drain you power up others to achieve their quest in life. Heaven smiles down upon us. Your choice. Your belvedere perhaps.

Whether the dark arts exist or not, you are in the moment. Your moment. You may choose to believe or find it unbelievable that you are in a certain situation because of some sort of malevolent intervention, but whether there is some veracity in your thoughts or not. Your perception might just be what you need to conceptualize how your tomorrow will be. The muslims believe that everything that happens is because God has allowed it to happen. There is good in everything that happens regardless of how the appearance may be.  Perhaps its time to change your view and turn that omen into an Amen. Alhamdulillah.
